Lessons from the past

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 cor: 2:14

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God is made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1 cor:1 : 30

From the very beginning God has sought to teach his creatures that dependance upon him for everything on which their existence depend is an absolute and eternal necessity. All that any creature need and must have to exist must come from God. It is not in man to direct his steps. From Genesis to the book of Revelation the lesson to be learnt, is, that the purpose of life for creatures is to glorify God. To glorify God and what it means to glorify God has been demonstrated by Jesus Christ. It means to be so surrendered to the will of God that only God is manifested in the life. In every book in the bible, in every chapter in the book, in every verse and every word, in every experience recorded in His word, He has sought to teach us that He is the source and the only source of all being, therefore in God, in His will, in his purpose is man’s only source of existence and happiness. When we study the records we see that some have learnt the lessons but many have not. Will this final generation miss the purpose also? God’s word assures us that some will enter in. God sent a message in the year 1888, if it had been received by those to whom in mercy it was sent, they would have been enjoying over 110 years of the millenium.
